PEER SUPPORT PROGRAMME

Peer support programmes (PSPs) are initiatives designed to provide emotional and psychological support to pilots and other aviation professionals, like cabin crew, air traffic controllers and ground engineers, who may be struggling with mental health issues or personal challenges that could impact their job performance.

PSPs aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health in the aviation industry and promote an open and supportive environment where people can seek help without fear of discrimination or punishment.

Our peer support workers (PSWs) enter a training programme delivered by mental health professionals. These PSWs have first-hand experience in the aviation industry and are familiar with the challenges and stresses that pilots and other aviation professionals face. They provide a listening ear, practical advice and are able to signpost on to other services to their peers who might be struggling.
