Bethan Manford

Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist

Bethan Manford (she/her) is a UKCP Accredited and Registered Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, trained as an arts psychotherapist specialising in movement and the body. She has over twelve years post qualification experience in the NHS and more recently in private practice. She has worked with infants, children and families presenting with a variety of concerns related to relationships, disability, mental health and wellbeing. During the last nine years, she has deepened skills within a specialist CAMHS Disability service and during the last two years she has been in a Neonatal Psychotherapy role (Neonatal and special baby care; NICU and SCBU) in a London NHS trust. She is passionate about early intervention and really enjoys working with under 5s, their parents or families to develop the parent-infant relationship. She has a special interest in working with parents during pregnancy and postnatally. Bethan has supported parents where birth trauma has been a primary concern, and also where there has been a bereavement or baby loss. 

She is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and often incorporates breath work, movement and mindfulness practices. Trained in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG; an evidence based approach within UK NICE guidelines), Bethan supports parents and professionals to develop skills in recognising strengths, self-compassion and mentalisation. 

Bethan facilitates training in NICU to develop understanding of the psychological impact of a NICU admission for parents and the attachment, trauma, stress and compassion focused approaches relevant for staff also. She also facilitates VIG training and more recently the National Maternity and PMA psychological 

Bethan is  registered with ADMP and AVIGUK. She is also a member of AIMH, APPCIOS and the BPC
