Support for Professionals

Individual Support

We understand that obstetric staff can experience symptoms of trauma, from events they witness when supporting women during the birth process. These can impact on how they function in their personal and working lives. Having a space where staff can work through the effects of this experience can result in them resolving some of these issues, feeling better and being able to return to work.

Supervision

Working in a busy, high-pressured job can often result in less time for reflective practice. Healthy You Ltd is able to provide group/individual supervision for staff to discuss dilemmas in their work, to increase both staff support and levels of disclosure when talking about patients. Not only do these increase staff being open to their patients, but also disclosure creates a culture of transparency, where problems are aired and discussed, enhancing team understanding. This ultimately impacts on reducing staff stress and anxiety, and also acts as an opportunity to share good practice.

Training

Please see the Upcoming Events section for dates of training.

We offer training to obstetric staff in areas of: effective communication with patients (‘Actions Speak Louder than Words…or do they?’) and resilience building, to equip staff to deal effectively with the challenges of working in an emotive environment and enhance their resilience and self-compassion (‘Building the Blocks to a More Effective You’).

We also are able to provide bespoke training services to individual teams and Trusts at their place of work. Please use the Contact Us form for any enquiries.

We need to stop glamorising overworking. Back2back meetings, no lunch breaks & late night working aren’t signs of a committed leader. Having boundaries are a form of self care & models to those you lead this is important. Spaces in your diary gives time to generate new ideas.
