Assessment

Neuropsychological & Psychological Assessments

We are able to provide either neuropsychological or psychological assessments for clients following road traffic accidents, industrial accidents, older person assessments and clinical negligence.

Expert Witness Reports

Dr Jan Smith provides expert witness reports regarding psychological injury following birth trauma and also clinical negligence in birth. She has special expertise in women’s health, the assessment of PTSD and birth trauma. Dr Jan Smith is currently completing a Bond Solon Cardiff University Criminal Expert Certification Course.

Capacity Assessments

Dr Mike Smith has expertise in conducting mental capacity assessments, particularly after someone has been affected by neurological illness. All assessments are compliant with the Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Mental Capacity Act Code of Practice (2007) and the British Psychological Society’s guidance.

Each assessment is tailored to the individual and their situation, and Mike has a wealth of experience in completing client-centred assessments with sensitivity. Assessments can take place at either the client’s own place of residence, or at our offices in Huddersfield.  Reports are of high quality, and all relevant Court of Protection forms are completed in a timely manner.

Behavioural assessment and intervention – older adults

We have extensive experience of needs/care assessments working with individuals and groups, developing evidence-based interventions to address issues including:

  • loneliness and social isolation;
  • care-giver stress;
  • adjustment to life transition, major health challenges and loss.

We can also deliver evaluation projects for public and private sector agencies, drawing on their skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods.

We need to stop glamorising overworking. Back2back meetings, no lunch breaks & late night working aren’t signs of a committed leader. Having boundaries are a form of self care & models to those you lead this is important. Spaces in your diary gives time to generate new ideas.
